While in Akka, Baha’u’llah revealed a tablet called Law-i-Sultan which He had written in Adrianople.  Badi begged for the privilege of delivering the tablet  addressed to Nasiri’d Din Shah of Persia, knowing he might have to lay down his life in the process, as it would have been impossible for the Shah to receive it through any other channel. In 1869 Badi set off from Akka and travelled alone on foot for three months until he reached Tehran. There he learned the Shah was on a hunting trip near his summer pavilion at Safid-ab-i-lar. Badi waited on a rock for three days until the Shah’s hunting party passed by. The Shah spotted Badi through his binoculars and summoned him into his presence. Badi delivered the Lawh-i-Sultan, outside the palace of Niy a Vara, as he addressed the Shah with a well known quote from the Quran. “O King I come to thee from Sheba with a weighty message.”  In this painting, in front of the Shah’s summer pavilion, reading left to right we see Haji Mirza Husayn Khan-i-Qazvini, Mushru’d-Dawlih persecuting a Babi youth, Manu Chihr Khan, Mu’tamidu’d-Dawlih, Haji Mulla Aliy-i-Kani (reading the tablet) A Prussian guard, Mirza Yusuf-i-Ashiyani, the Mustawfiyu’l-Mamalik, an Austrian guard, Siyyid Sadiq-i-Sanglaji ( the Ulamá of Tihran,) Husayn Khan-i-Iravani surnamed Ajudan-Bashi, Governor of the Province of Fars, Shayk Muhammad- Taqi (Son of the Wolf) Amir Nizam –Taqi Khan (Grand Vazier,) Nasiri’d-Din Shah, Kazum Khan-i-Farrash Bash, Badi, Sultan Masu’d Mirza, Zillu’s Sultan, Dr Tholozon, (The Shahs personal French physician.)
