Martyrdom of Badi

While in Akka, Baha’u’llah revealed a tablet titled Lawh-i-Sultan addressed to Nasiri’d- Din Shah of Persia. Badi begged for the bounty of delivering the tablet knowing full well he may have to lay down his life the process. He walked all the way to Tehran alone and when he arrived he learned the Shah was on a hunting expedition. Badi sat on a rock in a state of prayer and meditation for three days waiting for the royal escort to pass. Badi delivered the tablet to Nasiri’d- Din Shah and was arrested and tortured by the farashes who beat his feet and branded him before he quaffed the cup of martyrdom.
