The Shrine of the Bab

These doors to the Shrine of the Bab are the entrance to the nine roomed monument, where the remains of the Bab are buried on Mount Carmel. When Abdu’l- Baha arranged for the transportation of the sarcophagus to the vault prepared for it and laid within it the wooden casket containing the remains of the Bab. He cast aside His turban, removed His shoes, threw off His cloak and bent low over the open sarcophagus. He rested His forehead on the border of the wooded casket and wept aloud.
